Detailed description

Zantac is a popular medication used to treat heartburn, acid reflux, and other gastrointestinal issues.

In April 2020, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requested the immediate withdrawal of all prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) ranitidine drugs from the market due to the presence of a potential cancer-causing impurity called N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) in the medication.

NDMA is a known carcinogen and exposure to high levels of the impurity has been linked to an increased risk of cancer, including stomach cancer, bladder cancer, and other forms of cancer.

As a result, individuals who have taken Zantac and developed cancer are filing lawsuits against the manufacturers of the medication, alleging that they knew about the potential risks of NDMA contamination but failed to adequately warn consumers or take necessary steps to address the issue.

The lawsuits claim that Zantac and other ranitidine medications are defective and unreasonably dangerous, and seek compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and other damages related to the cancer diagnosis. If you have taken Zantac and subsequently developed cancer, you may be entitled to significant monetary compensation, in the range of $500,000 and up.
