Detailed description

When a baby is born prematurely, it may be fed cow’s milk formula instead of milk for a variety of medical reasons.

However, a 2011 study found cow’s milk formula to be linked to an increased risk of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a dangerous gastrointestinal condition.

If a baby was administered cow’s milk formula with no clear medical justification and subsequently developed NEC, the family may be entitled to monetary compensation ranging from $250,000 to $700,000. If the baby experienced substantial suffering as a result of the condition, higher settlements may be available.
